Beautiful Eastern Townships home sold for record price

This is the “most expensive property ever recorded on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) in Quebec,” the broker says in a release. The location had been for sale since September 2013.

The previous record was set in Senneville in 2014 for a property that sold for about $10 million, according to Royal LePage.

The 20-room residence is located on a 283,190.98 square foot lot bordering Lake Memphremagog.

The place has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and an indoor heated pool. There are also three guest houses and a private dock. The residence is also heated by a geothermal system.

According to Dominic St-Pierre, Senior Director for Royal LePage (Quebec Region), the luxury property market is doing well. “Interestingly, we’re noticing more activity on the outskirts of Montreal, whereas before, luxury properties were concentrated on the island,” he explains.

Buyers are mainly Quebec business owners or people from wealthy Quebec families. “Buyers, generally speaking, seem to come from the local market, Dominic St-Pierre. A minority of buyers are from outside the country.”
