This is the « most expensive property ever recorded on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) in Quebec, » the broker says in a release. The location had been for sale since September 2013.
The previous record was set in Senneville in 2014 for a property that sold for about $10 million, according to Royal LePage.
The 20-room residence is located on a 283,190.98 square foot lot bordering Lake Memphremagog.
The place has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and an indoor heated pool. There are also three guest houses and a private dock. The residence is also heated by a geothermal system.
According to Dominic St-Pierre, Senior Director for Royal LePage (Quebec Region), the luxury property market is doing well. « Interestingly, we’re noticing more activity on the outskirts of Montreal, whereas before, luxury properties were concentrated on the island, » he explains.
Buyers are mainly Quebec business owners or people from wealthy Quebec families. « Buyers, generally speaking, seem to come from the local market, Dominic St-Pierre. A minority of buyers are from outside the country. »
