Interview with Réginald Gauthier
Describe your job.
I have been a real estate broker for 36 years and am currently the broker-owner of Coldbrook Real Estate Inc. We are one of the last successful independent real estate agencies in Quebec.
You also get involved in causes. Can you tell us about it?
I try to help my fellow citizens whenever possible. When the fire at the duck farm occurred, many people were left without jobs. I launched a fundraiser that raised $45,000 in two weeks.
What is your proudest achievement?
My personal accomplishment is definitely being one of the founding members of the Town of Brome Lake’s First Responder Emergency Medical Service, which was created over 13 years ago. Our service has one of the highest life-saving rates in Quebec. I am on duty every week ready to receive 911 calls.
An anecdote or a memorable event?
A few months ago, an 86 year old lady called us on a Monday. She had a high fever for more than 4-5 days. I asked her why she had waited so long. She replied that she wanted to wait until Monday because she knew I was the one on duty… I found that very touching.
