The Artêria art gallery in Bromont is only seven years old, but it is already well established on the international scene, since it specializes in exporting works by young Quebec artists. Five words about a small company that is not afraid to think big.
Emerging
The owner of Artêria, Geneviève Lévesque, has found a niche market: the promotion of emerging and mid-career artists. “Their work is often figurative, but stands out with original techniques or media, such as painting on vintage televisions or works made from wrecked wood,” she describes. The talent of Quebec artists arouses great enthusiasm here and abroad. The prices of their creations too: from 1000 to 3000$ on average. “It’s interesting both for first-time collectors who don’t want to invest a fortune and for more established collectors who want to encourage the next generation,” adds the art dealer.

Although Artêria’s activities began in 2005, the company was not really born until spring 2007 under its current name. Founded by Geneviève Lévesque, the gallery has grown thanks to the company’s valuable collaborators, including: Christian Dorey, curator, Marie-Pierre Guay Desbiens, coordinator, Jonathan Auclair, business development, Anaïs Girardot, art evaluator and Pascal Couturier, director of the graphic communication company Chocolat Média for the design of the website.
